Watercolor Wonder Update

I can't wait! I love the easy storage of each of our watercolor crayon color families. When they originally came out all colors were in one box. There are so many ways to use these crayons! If you haven't had a chance to use them yet, you must try them.

From the home office:

"Our supplier has notified us that we will soon receive our Watercolor Wonder Crayons, and we are pleased to announce that we plan to have these available for order by the end of November. We will keep you updated if we are notified of any changes to this schedule, and we sincerely appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this product availability issue."

Hi! Wow what a busy couple of days it's been! I wanted to share what some lovely ladies did last Saturday with me, but it will have to wait until I can get the pictures. We had a great day creating for the troops.

As for today, thought I would share one we did last year for the holidays. This is real red and brushed silver card stock. Stamped and embossed then white ribbon and pearls added.

How are you today? It is a gorgeous day here in RI!! Today I wanted to share one of the cards we have done in my September Stamp-A-Stack.

We used the Midnight Musings (#120863-$8.50) jumbo wheel with black ink cartridge (#104581-$7.50), Midnight Raven (#116529-$7.95),card stock: elegant eggplant,pumpkin pie, crumb cake and whisper white and ribbons: 1/2" Stitched poly ribbon Concord Crush (#119266-$8.95), 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon Pumpkin Pie (#109030-$4.95) and Basic Black (#109027-$4.95). For the bats I took black card stock and covered it with Versa Mark (#102283-$7.50) and clear embossing powder (#109130-$4.75) then heat. Punched out the bats with our new Bitty Bat large punch (#119279-$15.95).

Okay, I will admit, I grew up on wood mount stamp sets and was not convinced there were great things about the clear mounts and the added versatility of them. I will never give up my love of wood mount, but I do have room in my heart for clear mounts now!! Trying is believing!

I have to say, I like seeing where I am stamping, being able to make a collage of stamps on one block and the ease of mounting them.

Something new for me!!

Hello!!

I think this stencil will be my newest investment. Shelli showed us this at Leadership this past January and I really want to try it!! I will be out searching for more of others ideas and uses for this product (116571 2 step Parisian Damask $14.95). So far I have seen it used repeatedly on walls, to embellish albums and fronts of cards. I have an idea I want to play with but we will wait and see if I can get it on paper.

I am away this week, tending to some needs of both my father and in-laws. I am so grateful that they live right near each other and am able to visit with both of them at the same time. It makes it possible for us to see them both twice as much instead of dividing our time.

What A Weekend!!

Hi - Just thought I'd share a couple of photos from part of my weekend. My BFF and DH went to one of our favorite spots early one morning this weekend. It was so nice to have great weather for a long walk. As you can see most of our walks include a fishing pole in my husbands hand and a camera in mine. The picture on the right is a favorite spot for seals to perch, but it was a little early for them so the rocks were covered with cormorants only. Of to create a swap for tonight, we are having a monthly meeting with my up line, sideline and down line tonight. I am so fortunate that my up line includes my down line in her meetings.

Wow!! What a beautiful day today was. I know it's early but I bought a few New Guinea Impatients today, to plant tomorrow. I can't wait any longer to plant something. plus these are hardy enough to stand up to the intense sun we get in the back yard. I was looking through some old photos and came across this one and thought I would share. I love this stamp set.

Tomorrow is supposed to be another great day, a lot to do.

Happy Anniversary to my In-Laws!!

Good Morning!!

Okay, first off, as I have said before, I really need to take a photography class!! Second, most of what I used in this project is retired, but I love the colors.

This is a card that folds accordion style that I made for my in-laws 61st anniversary that is this Sunday. I'm sorry that I will not be with them to celebrate they are the most wonderful, loving people.

You can double click on the images for a closer look. I put many layers in, so needless to say had to put it in a padded envelope to get it to them.

Hope this has inspired you to pull out what you love and put it together. So easy to make this a birthday, graduation, or mini scrap book to display.

One thing about it, ours we probably take up the most room on top of the TV!!

Pretties & More!!

How are you today?? This is a double page layout we did at a recent club (I overlapped the pages for the picture). We used a large flower and large half pearl from the pretties and three strips of the Loopy Flowers die strips. Also, on the left hand side is a 2" strip of the blue polka dots and Kraft stripped new textured papers. The polka dot star flowers are punched out with the five petal flower punch. Don't you just love this card?!? I am offering a class in which there is no stamping, you use an entire sheet of rub-ons and you make 15 cards. This is a fun way to make a nice collection of cards, so you can have one at your finger tips when you need it.

Leave a comment with your contact information. I am offering this as a class in my studio or I can send the parts and pieces to you with color step by step directions. If you order the kit I can give you a list of punches you may need to complete the cards, which you could probably substitute punches that you have. Let me know if you are interested.

It's Over!!!

Hello!!! I'm back. I can not believe it's been so long since I last posted!! As some of you may know, I own my own bookkeeping business full time during the week. So it has been a mad crush to get everyone to their accountants on time to file their taxes (every year a couple more learn not to procrastinate!!). I also picked up three new accounts, two of which needed all of 2008 done. I am not complaining though, it has been hard to watch so many people losing their jobs.

Now on to stamping!! The picture on the left is from a friend/client that has put up our decor elements "create" definition in her craft space!! Doesn't it look great! Also notice the card box she did in a class I held. You can double click on the photo to enlarge it and see the words. I just love this!!

I did a beautiful brag book for a member of my down line for her new baby girl, but don't you know I put it in the envelope and sealed it before I took the picture. I will try to make another one to share soon. I love these little brag books made with six clear envelopes, they are just perfect for grandma, mom or anyone to carry around their current photos from a grandchild, trip or their family.

I am currently working on Stampin'Up!'s new pop up dies for the Big Shot, and should have a class to offer soon. Also, have a rub-ons only class in which 15 cards are made from one sheet of rub-ons!! Keep watching.

Guests could not believe how easy it is. Wash garment first, stamp with craft ink, let dry 24 hours and heat set. The bolder the image the easier it is.

Just got home from my Dad's 80th birthday in Florida!! Stuck in Charlotte overnight, so I was a day late getting home. All is well, I'm all caught up at work and everything is wrapped. I can't wait to spend the day with my boys and husband tomorrow.

25 Days Till Christmas!!

I can't believe it's December 1st!!

Again with my shadow!! I will have to take a basic photography course.

Hello~ Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

I thought I would share a favorite of mine (although I have a lot of favorites) that is actually one I made last year. This is silver embossed on silver paper with a real red card base. Love the addition of the half pearls from the pretties kit. The ribbon is white taffeta and silver cord. I think the part I like best is the cut out on the right.

I'm looking for a nice Thanksgiving card to send to relatives I won't be able to see for the holiday. Anyone who would like to share, please leave me a post with a link to yours.

WOW!! Time Flies!!

Hello ~ I can't believe how fast time flies!! I know this isn't the greatest picture, although I have said before I am no photographer. I had trimmed it but when I saved it the crop didn't save!! So you see background clutter. This was the scrap page we did in my club this week. Some of the girls don't scrap so they took parts and pieces and made great cards!! The three brown leaves on the right are clear embossed and you can't see it (unless you click on the picture and make it bigger) but in the top left of the very vanilla there are holes punched to make an artful corner. Hi -

Just a sneak peek at on of the Christmas cards that will be included in one of my stamp-a-stacks. It's hard to see in the picture, but there is embossing and it does have a nice little glitter to it.

My fellow demonstrator and friend Amanda Campbell designed this card (maybe with just a little input from me).

Watch for an upcoming class featuring the Bella Tote made before but with a Christmas flair. I will have a very limited number of seats for this one so be sure to RSVP right away if you just love it!!

Made this card quickly at lunch today with a fellow demonstrator. I saw something very close to this on a blog (sorry, I really can't remember where so that I could give credit, but I loved it!!) Sorry about the quality of the picture, but I am not a photographer as my family will attest to and it's pretty cloudy today.

No picture because there is something wrong with my camera right now, but I may have figured it out. Hopefully soon you will see new pictures. I have some cute things we made at club this week.

My other excuse is...my darling husband and I spent the ENTIRE weekend cleaning out 25 years worth of our stuff, stuff family asked us to store for them and some stuff we can't remember who it came from. We cleaned the basement, garage and barn (bigger than my house!!). We filled tightly a 30 yard dumpster and if I had had the room and not been so sore (I am out of shape!!), I would have started on the back edge of our yard where there are some bushes? weeds? I would have liked to have dug up. Another day for that.

Hello -

I am so excited!! I'm headed to one of my most favorite places (besides my Stampin'Up! favorite places)...Maine. My husband and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary along with the loons and the fish in the lake. Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful here!!

I have a couple of stamping projects, a lot of books to catch up on and cross stitch. We will be out on the lake and I can go for a really nice long walk. It will be tough, but I will have no internet access and very little cell phone access. It's always nice to get back to nature and have a lot of quiet time to get back in touch with the earth.

This is a card we did at club in August. I think this is my current favorite stamp set. Card stock used was Old Olive, Pumpkin and Very Vanilla. The classic ink was Basic Brown. The markers were Old Olive, Summer Sun and Riding Hood Red.

Good morning...

I "borrowed" this lovely picture of a card from Amy Sheffer. Please send your thoughts and prayers to those in the wide path of Gustav. Many of us have family and friends that are reliving the pain of another hurricane just three years after Katrina. Some of whom are not or just in the past few months have made it back into their homes. I spent much of the night last night talking with family and watching the weather channel. Let's pray for the best for all of these people.

It does look though, like the northeast will have another wonderful day today. May you all enjoy your Labor Day!!

Congratulations!!! to Anna-Marie, my upline. She's the third one from the right. Anna-Marie was appointed by Shellie Gardner herself to the Advisory Board of Stampin'Up! This is a very high honor for our company.

This was just one part of such a fun filled awards night for us. The entertainment was incredible! The marches for demonstrators, awards given and the award nominated by demonstrators to a very deserving demonstrator. Art from the heart, it just goes on and on!! Hello~~ What a storm yesterday!! We needed the water, but got a lot awfully fast!!

Sorry it's been so long since I have posted. Wrapping up a very busy bookkeeping week and getting my swap ready for Convention. Just 5, count them, five days till I fly out. What an exciting, wonderful time this will be. Happy 20th anniversary to Stampin'Up!!

Now, down to business. I can't tell you how fast the retiring accessories are running out. On another note, only 9 days till I leave for Convention!! I am so excited. One of my down line, Pat, is coming with me and my up line has a total of 20 of us going!! Leftover Ribbon...What to do?

Hello -

I "borrowed" this picture from my upline Anna Marie Still's blog. It's a great use for all of those little pieces of ribbon you don't want to part with. She applied them to chipboard with Tomboy adhesive, available from Stampin'Up!

I spent the weekend with hubby. We had a bunch of errands to do. We spent some time away from the house because it is Art Festival weekend here in Wickford, Rhode Island, which means traffice is backed up forever! It makes it difficult to get out of the driveway even if you are going in the opposite direction of everyone else.

I also did some "research" for ideas for Convention. I can't believe we are leaving two weeks from Tuesday. I am so excited. Tomorrow night is our monthly demonstrator meeting, if you ever would like to come as my guest to see what it's all about, just give me a holler!!

Hello -

I know I haven't posted in awhile. I have not been creating to much. I'm actually in the middle of about three projects. We made these pages with the sticky cuts at the last Hostess Technique Club. I found a few definitions for my name so I think I may journal one of them, then add pictures of me. Pictures will be hard to come by because I am the picture taker in my family but we'll see what we can find. Also used some hardware from the silver hodgepodge, a flower from the pretties kit, double stitche in color ribbons, cosmo glitter, and a flower from the felt flowers.

I am busily making sure all things are taken care of at home, my swaps are planned and done, my daily bookkeeping business is up to date and I have at least one new outfit to wear to convention. I can't believe it's only two and half weeks away!! There are a group of twenty of us going. How fun will that be!!!

The first one is up!! How easy. You will love these. For those of you who know my office you can tell exactly where this spot is. It looks great here. What a great place to make a focal point for the cards we are working on. Let me know what you think. For this particular Decor Element you could also take out the center piece to put a word in here, or use this to actually frame something on your wall. So many possibilities!!

I have one more to put up, but I may have to wait until tomorrow.

2 Step Stamping

Hello - It's Friday!! I'm sure a lot of you get very excited when the weekend comes.

I have been very busy this week (hence the lack of posts). A lot of it would bore you, but one exciting thing I did was complete a project that I entered into a contest for demonstrators at Stampin'Up! I'd be lying if I said I don't care if I win or not but, I do have to say the process of creating and entering was so much fun. Thank you for the support to the couple of people who have seen this project. I will show all of you in the next couple of weeks, I just can't publish it yet.

Now, to today. If you have not tried 2 step stamp sets, you really should, these are no fail stamping!!

This card is a color combination I saw on someone's blog (sorry I can't remember who). The cardstock is Basic Gray, Cameo Coral and Very Vanilla. The ink is Cameo Coral.The ribbon is basic gray taffeta. I also used a Very Vanilla half pearl from the Pretties Kit. The scallop was achieved by using the corner rounder without the guard on it. The flower was cut out after stamping with the 2 step stamp set Bud Basics. This was a very quick card and could be used for a variety of occasions.

Happy Friday~What a beautiful day today has been.

I must start with an apology. My camera is in my office so I am unable to photograph my Crystal Effects tip for you, but here are the details.

I punched various sizes and shapes of designer series paper, mounted them on mini glue dots, then stuck them on the glossy paper that is left after you take the labels off for your stamp sets. (So this is also a recycling tip!!) I then carefully applied a thick coat of Crystal Effects on the punched out shapes. You just want to be careful not to go over the edge of the shape and to try to pop any air bubbles. After letting this set for about an hour, I did go back and add a second layer (your choice). If you want the accent pieces to be really flat you may want to mount them on cardstock before you put them on the mini glue dots. This does take a few hours to dry completly, but what a great way to use up some of your scraps. If you made up a lot of them all at once in any of the colors you have, you will have them ready to go whenever you want them. You now have your own accent pieces for your cards or scrapbook pages. Putting them on the mini glue dots ahead of time does a couple of things: it allows the image to be raised so that keeping the Crystal Effects on the image is easier, it holds the image still so you don't have to use your fingers and it is ready to grab and go when you want to apply it to your card or page.

What a great day today was~~

Good Evening to all of you - It's 9:30pm here and it's just starting to rain, but what a beautiful day. I would have liked to get outside a little more though.

I have no picture for you today, but there is exciting news from Stampin'Up! They have released a new product line called Decor Elements. I have seen the preview of these high quality self adhesive vinyl wall decor. WOW!! That's all I can say. I have already placed my order for the brochures and one to put in my stamp room for all to see. I will be able to hand out brochures by the end of next week. You have to see them in full color. These are for anyone who wants to change their decor in an affordable way. Sometimes taping off a room and painting or new wall paper is just to big of a task. With these it will be a beautiful accent to your room. There is no stamping involved and they are easier than rub ons. Also, they are easy to remove if you decide to change room again in the future. These are the best affordable decorating project I have seen in a very long time.

Happy Tuesday!!

I'm getting ready for my Hostess Technique Club tonight, but wanted to do a quick post.

These are baby shower thankyou gifts I made for my uplines shower. They both used Designer Series paper (SU) wrapped around Hershey chocolate bars. The umbrella is punched designer paper with the oval punch in two directions, with the handle and pearl from the Pretties Kit (SU). The baby stroller is the scallop punch cut in half with one half folded acordian style. The wheels are stars from the Starstruck set (SU) with Soft Subtle brads (SU) attached. The center of the stroller is 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" punches (SU). The welcome sentiment is from Warm Words set (SU). If you have more questions or would like to order supplies for these projects, feel free to email me.
